Downtown Anchorage
The AlaskaCam view is looking east on 4th Avenue at G Street in Anchorage, Alaska (“The Busy Corner”) from high atop the historic Alaska Building and is updated every twenty seconds.

4th Avenue and D Street (South-West View)
This camera is located on the north side of 4th Avenue, at the intersection of 4th Avenue and D street. The camera looks toward the south-west, down the length of the avenue.

4th Avenue & E Street (South-East View)
The Hilton Hotel roof provides this view of the corner of 4th Avenue and E Street in Downtown Anchorage. The street in the foreground running diagonally from the bottom right to the middle left of the frame is 4th Avenue, which intersects with E street at the bottom right of the frame. Visible are many downtown businesses as well as the 5th Avenue shopping Mall next to the JC Penney store. At the end of February you can also catch Fur Rondy events on 4th Avenue, followed by the start of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race at the beginning of March.

This camera is located in “Downtown McGrath” on McGuire Drive. It shows the Penair Ticket Counter / Hotel McGrath B&B in the foreground. The dirt on the left is the airport apron, currently under construction. The Kuskokwim river is in the middle of the frame and Appel mountain is in the background to the left. McGrath is also a checkpoint for the world famous Iditarod sled dog race. We’ll re-orient the cameras to capture the action when it happens.

This view is of the Airport Ramp area and points North-North-West. Penair unloads near the small planes and Northern Air Cargo unloads directly in front of the camera. The hills behind the airport are called “Blueberry Ridge” and the “Cloudy Mountains” are in the far background. McGrath is also a checkpoint for the world famous Iditarod sled dog race. We’ll re-orient the cameras to capture the action when it happens.
