AnchorageThe Hilton Hotel roof provides this view of the corner of 4th Avenue and E Street in Downtown Anchorage. The street in the foreground running diagonally from the bottom right to the middle left of the frame is 4th Avenue, which intersects with E street at the bottom right of the frame. Visible are many downtown businesses as well as the 5th Avenue shopping Mall next to the JC Penney store. At the end of February you can also catch Fur Rondy events on 4th Avenue, followed by the start of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race at the beginning of March.

AnchorageThis camera is located at the opposite end of Anchorage, at the Potter Marsh Weigh Station. This weigh station is about four miles south of Anchorage on the New Seward highway. Visible is the inbound ramp to the scales, the New Seward Highway, some of our gorgeous mountains and a portion of the inlet. The New Seward Highway is labeled one of America’s Most Scenic Highways and we’ll vouch for that – the scenery is just incredible.

AnchorageThis camera is located approximately eight miles from Anchorage at the Glenn Highway Weigh Station, pointed west, toward Anchorage and almost 11 miles from the base site. Not only does the camera provide a very nice view of the Glenn Highway and the entrance to the weigh station, it is also a demonstration of the reach and capabilities of Borealis – this link is capable of up to 8 Mbps of throughput to or from the weigh station.

Anchorage MidtownThis camera is located on the Denali Towers North office building in Midtown Anchorage and is pointed South-East. The large single-story tan structure in the center of the view is the Sears Mall and in front of it runs Northern Lights Blvd., a one-way street moving East to West. Behind the mall is Benson Blvd., a one-way street moving West to East. The single-story building complex at the center left of the picture is the Fred Meyer shopping mall and between the two runs the New Seward Highway in a North-South direction. The high-rise building in the center of the picture is an office building.

AnchorageLocated on the Sheraton Hotel Anchorage, this camera points east toward the mountains. The inbound car traffic on the left is 5th Avenue and the outbound car traffic on the right is 6th Avenue. Traffic moving left to right across the frame is on Gambell and the traffic moving right to left is on Ingra. Also visible is Merrill Field. The outbound 6th Avenue merges with the inbound 5th Avenue just short of Merrill Field and turns into the Glenn Highway.
