4th Avenue & E Street (South-East View)

The Hilton Hotel roof provides this view of the corner of 4th Avenue and E Street in Downtown Anchorage. The street in the foreground running diagonally from the bottom right to the middle left of the frame is 4th Avenue, which intersects with E street at the bottom right of the frame. Visible are many downtown businesses as well as the 5th Avenue shopping Mall next to the JC Penney store. At the end of February you can also catch Fur Rondy events on 4th Avenue, followed by the start of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race at the beginning of March.

The webcam is located in Homer, AK, approximately 120KM (75MI) north-east of Augustine volcano

The camera is located at the University of Alaska Geophysical Institute Augustine camp on the west side of the island

This low-light camera is co-located with the daylight camera in Homer. It is extremely sensitive to light and has a range that extends to the Near Infrared (NIR). The image from this camera will often be light-saturated during daylight hours and will display only as a white featureless screen.
